THIS IS ME

Once in a while, a performer comes along with that perfect combination of talent and deep soul.
"Then came Joe Roy Jackson. Described in some circles as the 'real deal', Jackson has been compared to guitar greats such as BB King, Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix. Well, if you have never seen King, Clapton or Hendrix perform, but have seen Jackson, you've seen them all. Jackson is simply awesome!" -Carl Gilchrist, Jamaica Gleaner
Joe Roy Jackson is the “Quintessential American Blues Man”.
-
Don Wilcock – New York Blues Society
Jackson first picked up the guitar at 6 years old. He was fortunately born into a family of talented musicians. Joe Roy has his family & friends to thank for his successful start. Jackson’s mom (Mary Jackson) played lap steel guitar, lovingly teaching Joe Roy how to use the slide. His father (Keith Jackson Sr.) who played lead guitar for local country musicians, purchased Joe Roy’s first guitar leading him into the genre of country music. His brother Keith performed with The Tempered Blues Band until he was drafted into the service during the Vietnam War, leaving all his musical equipment to Joe Roy as well as his close friend Randy Parti introducing him to the Blues which is now his main genre. Since then Joe Roy Jackson hasn’t stopped singing & playing guitar!!
